Terms & disclaimer
The short version
Second Spin Boutique is a marketplace. Independent sellers list and ship their own items and are responsible for them. We provide the shop, checkout and Shipping Protection. Shipping Protection is the buyer's remedy if something goes wrong, and it is the limit of what we owe. Sellers who knowingly mislead buyers or don't ship are permanently removed. By buying or selling here, you agree to these terms.
01Who sells what
Items on Second Spin come from two places: consigned items, which we check, list and ship ourselves, and marketplace items, which independent sellers list and ship. For marketplace items, the sale contract is between the buyer and the seller. Second Spin is the venue and handles payment. We are not the seller, manufacturer or shipper of marketplace items.
02Seller responsibilities
To sell here, you must be approved. Approved sellers agree to:
- Own every item they list and have the right to sell it.
- Describe each item honestly: its true condition, every known flaw, and photos of the actual item.
- Never list counterfeit, stolen, recalled, hazardous or illegal items.
- Pack items safely and ship within 3 business days of a sale, with tracking.
- Pay any taxes they owe on their earnings.
03Fees and payouts
On marketplace sales, Second Spin keeps 20% of the item price. Shipping is paid by the buyer at checkout, based on where the item ships from and where it's going. The Shipping Protection fee is 4% of the item price, split equally between buyer and seller.
A seller's payout is released 3 days after tracking shows the item delivered, as long as no claim is open. Fees are not refunded when a claim is approved because of the seller's fault.
04Shipping Protection
Shipping Protection covers an order when the seller doesn't ship, tracking shows it lost, it arrives damaged in shipping, or it is significantly not as described. Buyers must report a problem within 3 days of delivery, or once shipping is late, with their order number and photos.
If a claim is approved, the buyer is refunded the item price and shipping they paid. That refund is the buyer's sole remedy against Second Spin for that order. We may ask for the item back before refunding. Change-of-mind, wrong size or "not what I imagined" are not covered when the listing was accurate.
Shipping Protection is a buyer-guarantee program run by Second Spin Boutique. It is not an insurance policy, and we are not an insurance company.
05Removal from the site
A seller who knowingly lists misleading items or takes payment and doesn't ship will be permanently barred from Second Spin. Any pending payouts are used first to refund affected buyers, and the seller must repay any refunds we cover on their behalf.
We may also pause or remove any listing or account that breaks these terms, puts buyers at risk, or gets repeated valid claims.
06Disclaimer
All items are pre-owned and sold as-is, as described in their listing. Second Spin does not inspect marketplace items and makes no warranties about them, including fitness for a particular purpose, authenticity or brand. Descriptions of marketplace items are written by their sellers, and AI-assisted descriptions are reviewed by whoever lists the item.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Second Spin's total liability for any order is limited to the amount the buyer paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts, mistakes or omissions of sellers, buyers or shipping carriers.
07Sellers cover their own mistakes
Sellers agree to cover Second Spin for any claims, losses or costs caused by their listings, their items, or their breaking of these terms.
08Consigned and donated items
Consigned items follow the terms on the signed consignor receipt. When a consignor chooses to donate items at the end of their contract, the money from selling those items is saved in a fund to open homes for domestic violence survivors.
09Changes and contact
